Be Still and Know: Monthly Half-Day Silent Retreats to Rest and Restore
Saturdays: March 18, April 15 and May 13
9am - 2pm
Emmaus United Church of Christ
900 Maple Avenue East (intersection of Rt. 123 and Greenbriar Drive)
We face challenging times, both as a country, and as individuals on the path of compassion, justice and inclusion. We know that coming together in community, with others on this path, is essential in maintaining our equanimity. These half-day retreats will all be slightly different, and are designed to restore the weary, provide grounding for the contemplative, and stir inner wisdom for the activist. Our time together will be largely in silence, with both silent and guided meditation, restorative movement, and short inspirational talks. Our hope is to provide a place you can come regularly to find stillness, strength and resolve. People of all faiths (or none), ethnicities and orientations are most welcome!
Comfortable padded chairs are provided. You may bring your own cushion or bench to use on the carpeted floor. You'll be notified if you need to bring a yoga mat - every month will be different. Participants provide their own lunch, and we'll eat communally in silence. Hot tea and water are provided. There is ample parking, and bus service from the Silver Line Tyson's Corner. Please choose your payment amount below. Funds go to space rental and teacher compensation. Partial scholarships are available. Email email@example.com to inquire.
